my current trane thermostat has eight wires. The new honeywell only has connections for five wires. Will the honeywell work or not? ...

Double checked installation, but the heat keeps running, could it be something other than the thermostat as we just put this in as the old one (we thought) was not working...the heat kept running and wouldn't shut off...
What should we do?

In heating..it just stops and has to be shut and restarted. We come home to an ice cold house and has to be started because it just stops....

I installed the thermostat. Programmed it according to the instructions. However no matter how cold it is in the house, the Temp Display shows 71 degrees and never goes under that. The heat runs as if the programming is working but the display itself never changes...

I am installing an RTH230B and have only two wires, one black and one white for heating. I am not sure which is the heat relay wire and which is the heating power. Any advice?...

We are renting a property with the RTH230B unit and have no user/owner manual - the filter requires changing but we don't know how. Could someone please advise?...

This happens erratically, with no frequency or pattern. The A/C will be in cooling mode, and cooling fine. Suddenly, the system stops cooling, and just blows air, without touching any controls on the thermostat. I have to set the Thermostat to off, let it sit for 5 to 10 minutes, and then move the switch to Cool, and then the little snowflake icon blink for a short period of time, and then the A/C turns on, and starts cooling again.
Any suggestions as to what is wrong will be appreciated.

thermostat is flashing the air conditioner signal. no air coming on. prior to this...the filter indicator was on. reset that....
